VOR Cancellation at the patient's bedside: how to avoid another cause of false positive

There is little literature on the semiological aspects of clinical Vestibulo-Occulomotor Reflex (VOR) cancellation technique. This study aims to determine which would be best head movement frequency cutoff perform VOR test. Materials and methods: 98 horizontal semicircular canals with normal gains from individuals were included. The was cancelled by placing a headband fixed target over individual's head, patient told keep their eyes while examiner recorded presence number saccades that evident naked eye performing sinusoidal cephalic rotations at different frequencies. rotation compared following variables: 1-Saccades are -SHIMP (+) clinical-, 2-The performed for period 2 seconds, 3- in every cycle, 4- Amplitude º/sec. saccades, 5-Percentage 6-Age. Conclusion: To avoid false positive caused SHIMP during evaluation patient's bedside, we recommend frequencies lower than 0.5Hz - 0.6Hz age group under 67 years old.
